Wapikoni Mobile is growing!

We are currently looking for a dynamic, organized, and proactive person to join our team as a Distribution and Audience Development Agent.

Wapikoni’s exposure continues to shine which is why we are looking for an efficient and motivated person to support the dissemination of the works part of a large collection of 1 300 short films.  

Do you like to introduce unique films to diverse audiences (showcase to others the Wapikoni collection, propose and develop pertinent programming, submit films to festivals and events, analyze the audiences reached by Wapikoni and propose development and distribution strategies)?

Do you have a passion for cinema, have a good understanding and can navigate easily in the local and international industry (maintain close relationships with various broadcasters and content providers, approach potential distribution partners, monitor audiovisual market trends, represent the organization at events, negotiating broadcast agreements)?

Are you interested in Indigenous cultural expressions? Would you like to support emerging filmmakers in their outreach (consult and advise members of the collective on their interest in participating in distribution activities, joining them during film markets and/or screenings, inform them of various development and outreach opportunities)?

Do you pay close attention to details (update the various distribution monitoring tools, follow up on distribution rights invoices, assist the Distribution Manager in writing reports and performing other administrative tasks)?

Do you believe in the transformative power of the arts (reflect on the collection for outreach activities)?

Do you have initiative and a strong team spirit? Do you enjoy collaborating (building and maintaining good relations with Indigenous organizations, proposing alternative distribution activities, working in partnership with the distribution team and other departments)?

Then, you are the person we are looking for!


  • Studies in Film, Art, or related fields. Equivalent professional experience will be considered;
  • Relevant and solid experience in a similar position;
  • Fluent in French and English; Spanish and Indigenous languages are an asset;
  • Knowledge of the film industry and community organizations is required;
  • Knowledge or/and interest for Indigenous cultures;
  • Proficiency in MS Office.


Organizational skills, autonomy, dynamism, curiosity, meticulousness, speed of execution, resourcefulness, ability to work under pressure and within a team, good general culture, intercultural adaptability, knowledge of Quebec and Canada’s Indigenous environments (an asset).


Workplace: Montréal 

Schedule: 5 days/week (37.5 hours)

Hourly Wage:  $19.89/h – based on the organization’s wage scale 

Vacation: 3 weeks after the first year of employment

Group insurance starting after the six-month probation period
