Shot in Bolivia over the course of two and a half years, this intimate portrait of , a young Indigenous mother, softly explores her difficult past. Her troubled youth is unfortunately not a unique case and is a true representation of what too many Indigenous women all over the Americas still go through today. By telling her story through a film, breaks the cycle of violence and silence, and gives her daughter hope for a bright future. " is the name of the protagonist, which she shares with her mother and daughter. The Magalys represent different sides of her personality but also three generations of women," explains the director Frédéric Julien. This family saga is both simple and extraordinary and depicts the emancipation of Indigenous women over several generations as well as the power of resilience that sleeps inside every one of us.
