FIVE WAPIKONI EVENTS
AT PRÉSENCE AUTOCHTONE/MONTREAL’S FIRST PEOPLES FESTIVAL
Wapikoni Mobile is proud to announce that five Wapikoni and Musique Nomade events will take place at the 28th edition of Présence
In total, twenty Wapikoni shorts were selected, 14 of which make up the August 14 Special Wapikoni Screening. Held at 8:30 pm at Cinéma de Sève (1400, boul. de Maisonneuve West), the screening is entirely made up of Montreal premieres. The following day, August 15, at 4 pm, is the discussion panel Which Indigenous Cinema? A Conversation between 3 Generations of Women followed at 8 pm by the Montreal First Peoples Festival’s closing film, The Circle of Nations 2: Women. This middle-length film produced by the International Network of Aboriginal Audiovisual Creation (INAAC) is a collective feature that focuses on Indigenous women and offers contemporary points of views on various issues such as identity, land, and femininity. Also on the Place des Festivals, on August 11 at 9:30 pm is Musique Nomade’s Nikamotan MTL –

in various First Nations communities
