Wapikoni at the The Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions ten years after

On May 29, the Wapikoni Mobile will be participating in the symposium The Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions ten years after: national and international perspectives at Laval University. The Wapikoni will be represented by Manon Barbeau, founder and director general.

The Law Faculty at Laval University, the Fernand-Dumont Chair on Culture at the National Institute of Scientific Research and the Canadian Coalition for Cultural Diversity will be organising the event. The international conference will be featuring key actors of the past decade and the one ahead, and the following themes will be discussed, taking into account the cross-cutting issues of digitization and of economic development.

- Rethinking the role of cultural policies for the protection and the promotion of the diversity of cultural expressions  
- Culture as a lever for the development and strengthening of societies 
- The linkages between the Convention and trade agreements 
- The Convention faced with new challenges: future actors and priority areas for its implementation
