Beautiful reaping of awards at The Festival international de cinema et d'art de Percé

Last August 26, more than 10,000$ in prizes were awarded to young Gaspesian filmmakers in front of a packed house at the Gala du court métrage gaspésien presented by the 8th Festival de cinema Les Percéides.

Among the winners, three Wapikoni filmmakers have won the very nice following awards:


1. - LOJIQ Award - Offices Jeunesse Internationaux du Québec: International mobility grant

Given to DJ XS7 (Alexander Jerome) for the film Becoming the Warrior

- Moulin d'Andé (France) Award: 10 days full board writing residence

Given to DJ XS7 (Alexander Jerome) for the film Becoming the Warrior


2. - Groupe PVP Award - 300$ in cash and 700$ in services

Awarded to NAOMI CONDO for the film I Am L'Nu  

This prize was presented by Sylvie Bélanger, head of production and development, Groupe PVP


3.- Télé-Québec Gaspésie-Les-Îles Award - 500$ in cash

Given to ZACHARY GREENLEAF for the film The Three Sisters Community Garden

A cheque was handed by Les Percéides


4.- Percé's Geopark Award - Accommodation in Percé

Handed over to HEATHER CONDO for the film My Father's Tools

Presentation of the award by Cathy Poirier, president of Percé's Geopark

- Orléans Express -  Transport ticket for two people anywhere in Quebec

Handed over to HEATHER CONDO for the film My Father's Tools

- Telus Award - 1,500$ in cash

Given to HEATHER CONDO for the film My Father's Tools

 

Les Percéides, Festival international de cinema et d’art de Percé, is the sole festival of auteur cinema in Gaspe peninsula.  Its program consists of works whose cinematic forms are exploring different genres such as fiction, documentary, animation, popular cinema, rural cinema, and experimental and auteur cinema.
