Manon Barbeau is being honored by UNESCO from march 7 through march 21 in Paris for International Women's day!Alongside the President of Quebec Native Women, Viviane Michel, they will both deliver a joint conference entitled “Quebec Native Women: between Art and Activism”.
“I am very much moved. It warms the heart especially since this is the 10th year Wapikoni Mobile has operated. This event have given us the energy necessary to undertake the next ten years,” Ms. Barbeau stated.
At UNESCO Headquarters, Manon Barbeau will represent Quebec and Canada at an exhibit celebrating women. It will include a screening of First Nation women’s films and a photo exhibit of portraits of women taken during Wapikoni creation workshops in communities throughout Quebec, Canada and in South America.
