The symposium When Cinema Builds Bridges is organized by the Wapikoni Mobile in collaboration with the GIRA (Interdisciplinary Research Group on the Americas), Land InSights and Oxfam-Quebec. This event is intended for the general public, filmmakers, researchers, students, as well as for international organizations for audiovisual training and creation working towards the appropriation of media by Aboriginal peoples.
This symposium will culminate with the creation of the first Réseau international de création audiovisuelle autochtone (RICAA), the International Network for Aboriginal Audiovisual Creation, allowing for long-term exchanges, the development of co-creation works between partners from different backgrounds as well as wider distribution of the works created.
