Debbie is a Mi’gmaq from the Listuguj First Nation in Quevec, Canada. She studied profesional photography at the Dawson Institute of photography in the late 1980s. Past work experience has been in the field of employment and training, developing resources for First Nations health workers to being an entrepreneur. The 2015 Wapikoni mobile stopover is her first experience as a director and videographer. She works as an anti-racism coordinator and using this media format to bring social issues is an exciting endeavour for her. A wife, step-mom and grandmother, she passes her leisure time doing beadwork; from earrings and bracelets to her specialty, beaded baskets.
