Biography

Mélodie Jourdain-Michel is a young Innu woman from Uashat mak Mani-Utenam who holds a bachelor's degree in sexology from UQAM. Determined and proud of her Aboriginal origins, Mélodie became AFNQL Youth Network spokesperson to highlight the voices of Indigenous youth. Her experience with Wapikoni began in the summer of 2015 as a youth outreach worker during the stopover in Wemotaci. The following year, she decided to make her first short film when the team stopped in her own community.
