Noëlla Mestokosho (1974) was born and raised on Innu land, in Ekuanitshit. She's been coordinating a Crafts for Women project called Eshikatiuh Tshukuminu since 2003 to keep the traditional knowledge on how to make snowshoes, moccasin and garments alive. She values her cultural heritage and wants to protect it. This is why she is adamant that young people from her community learn Innu-aimun. In 2018, she co-directed a short film with the Wapikoni in which she shares her attachment to the land, nature and the words used to describe them.
