Seagull eggs harvesting has been a Saulteaux tradition for many centuries. Elaine Ferland used to be the mayor of Duck Day for over a decade and she has a dedication to that tradition and making sure youth learns it too. Every year, she brings new kids to an island experience the harvesting and the process of boiling and eating the Seagull eggs.
